Colour Theory Nail Polish in Tangerine Dream - review and photos

I received this in my May 2014 Bellabox and said a few words about it there, but because I like this product so much and since it performs so well (for one who finds that nail polishes generally do nothing but chip from the moment they dry - if they ever actually do dry), I thought this deserved a post of its own.

Indeed, this polish ended up being my favourite item in the May box, which I wasn't expecting. At $4 a pop, this just goes to show that a hefty price tag doesn't always equal quality!

Colour Theory claims/product details:
  • Long wearing
  • Fast drying
  • Formaldehyde free
  • Your manicure will outlast even the toughest chores and come out vibrant and shiny
  • Premium, two coat polish that gives you super glossy nails
  • RRP $4 for 6ml
  • Available from Guardian and Amcal Chemists, and online here
  • Comes in 22 shades

Here are my nails after a full day's use. No chipping - that never happens!

After two days' use, slight chipping on the index finger of my right hand only (every other nail is fine). See below.

By day three, that chipping is the same and there's a tiny white line of chipping along the nail of my right middle finger. That's all!

(I'm telling you, for me, this is amazing. I had a professional manicure done two weeks ago - the second one I've ever had in my life - and that lasted one day before the chip-fest began. And the manicurist used an Opi colour!)

Verdict

Does this live up to its claims? YES.

I'm rubbish at nail polish: I always manage to smudge it after application and then chip it within a few hours (too much typing, I suspect). This one however dried quickly and remained almost chip-free for three days - out-performing some more expensive brands that I've tried. I love the orange colour too.

I'm on day four of wear now, and while there's a tiny white line of lost product on three of the nails on my right hand, you can't tell unless you study my hands closely and my nails look smashing. Huzzah!

What I also like about this, is that you're paying only $4 for 6ml of product; most polishes come in a larger (and more expensive) size. But who ever finishes a bottle of polish before it starts to go gluggy? Not I. I'd much prefer a smaller size like this one - means I can have more colours for less : )

Can't rave about this enough. LOVE.

Have you tried it? I urge you to!
