Eslor Soothing Cleanser & Refiner and Eslor Botanical Peeling Gel - review

As mentioned earlier, I bought Eslor's Regenerating Kit ($65USD) and Nourishing Kit ($55USD) a while back and have been using them for the past six weeks. I managed to get a 20% discount when I bought these and at the time Eslor was running a promotion, so I also received a travel-sized Botanical Peeling Gel with the purchase. Yay!

As mentioned in my earlier post on Eslor's Replenishing Scrub, I first discovered Eslor through Bellabox. While some Eslor products are available in the Bellabox shop, I wanted to try as many items as possible so I ordered these from the US website.

Eslor is an American brand that's expanding globally. Its products are all natural and work wonders on your skin (they do for me, anyway). For more info on Eslor and sampling Eslor products, see my post here - and note that I'm not affiliated with the company and these views are my own.

Verdict: Soothing Cleanser & Refiner

I've trialled this before and unfortunately wasn't wowed by it, but I've tried to keep an open mind over the past six weeks while I've been using this 15ml travel size.

After the second time around, I have to confirm that this is probably the only Eslor product I've tried so far that I don't like. It doesn't feel as though it does much, and my skin doesn't feel fresh and clean after use (which is what I personally look for in a cleanser). It may be that it's just too gentle for me.

I'd be interested to hear what others think of this product. It was included in a recent Birchbox (see reviews here) and it's obviously popular, so as usual it all comes down to personal opinion.

I think this would be a great product to trial if you suffer from sensitive skin.

Verdict: Botanical Peeling Gel

I really like this. It goes on thickly, has a nice smell and feels lovely on - caramelly or something. You feel like you're doing your skin a favour each time you apply it.

While I enjoy using it, I haven't seen any major after-effects yet. On Eslor's website, this gel is listed as an exfoliant; I prefer the Replenishing Scrub for that purpose. Again, maybe because it's a bit 'rougher' and really feels like it gets the job done. But if you have sensitive skin and want a gentle exfoliant that still delivers results, this may be the product for you.

In terms of 'mask' products (and you do leave this on for a while, so in that sense it's like a mask), I prefer Eslor's Chlorophyll Lifting Mask (see my review here). Having said this, my skin definitely looks and feels a bit nicer after use - fresher and brighter - it's just that the gel doesn't seem to have the same impact as the chlorophyll product.

Again, it all comes down to personal preference: this product is award-winning and plenty of people rave about it. I'd give the chlorophyll product 4 stars, the scrub 4.5 and this one 3.5 - so it still rates pretty highly I reckon : )
