little white truths

We received this cream cleanser in Memebox Superbox #63 Blackheads No More, and it's taken me a while to open it because I had so many other cleansers to get through first.

That's what happens when you order too many boxes ; )

Verdict

I do like cream/balm cleansers but I think they're very hard to pull off. The best one I've ever used is Happy Skincare's Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm (review here) and I've used a Holika Holika one from Memebox that was ok (review here).

This one lies somewhere in the middle, though I'd say it's above average for the texture and feel on your face alone. It's a white cream that's super velvety and a dream to apply, and I've half a mind to use it as a moisturiser instead!

In terms of efficacy, it doesn't remove makeup (including mascara) very well. There's some dissolving action and it shifts my base, but not the sturdier, waterproof products. If I use it in the morning however (so no makeup), it seems to do a better job and there's no dirt left behind on the cotton pad when I tone so it's obviously doing something.

It has a very faint, inoffensive scent: I smell toffee apples. If you prefer fragrance-free products, don't discount this because you can barely smell it.

One thing to note is that it does leave a residue behind, so as noted by the product instructions, you will need to use another cleanser after it. That's fine: I normally double-cleanse anyway.

The tube is large and will last a long time, particularly because you don't need to use much, so that's another plus because it's good value in that sense.
