Verdict

What can I say about this product? I really don't think it's good folks, and I've given it a disappointing products tag because it's rare that I come across a BB cream/tinted moisturiser that I not only don't like, but I also think is basically unusable - or at least it is for me.

It's a standard-looking BB cream and it has an odd, mealy scent that makes me think of stale cake batter. It's not a smell I enjoy and I don't like applying it to my face.

As soon as you apply it and start to rub it in, the product does this weird 'separating' thing so it seems to clump in blobs and it's hard to get an even application: you'll see what I mean in the left-hand, unblended swatches above - see the gaps? I couldn't get a smooth swatch, and if you try to rub it in on the back of your hand, you'll see what I mean. Plus if you don't work fast enough, the pigment hardens and separates - just as it separates on the face.

Once applied, my face feels sticky - like it's covered in film. The product doesn't give any coverage (at least on me) although it does dye the skin a little and the shade 03 Nude Beige isn't a bad match for my light/medium to medium skin, but note that this product oxidises so it's not something I can wear because it looks visible on the skin.

Also, the BB cream separates and flakes off. It's as though some of the ingredients adhere to the skin and coat it with a film, while the pigment itself doesn't absorb or hold fast, so it starts to 'lift off' and 'ball up' something chronic. This means that I can't use it as something that goes underneath other makeup, nor can I apply sunscreen over it - if I do, I get little flakes all over my face that I have to wipe off with a towel.

Now unfortunately I did put this into Project Pan after I saw how bad it was, with the intention of mixing it in with my moisturiser or sunscreen - just to get through it. This was a bad idea, and even then it's unusable because it still flakes and balls up, despite that I've used very little of it and mixed it in with something else. Looks like it's heading for the body cream section! While normally I would declutter something that just doesn't work, it's too bad to pass on and I would rather throw it on mixed in with my body cream and be done with it within a few applications.

So in sum, this is a bad product and I don't recommend it. I'm surprised that it's even on the market because I can't see how this would work for anyone, given the separating issues.
