Omorovicza Cleansing Foam - review

You may remember that I unboxed Omorovicza's introductory set back in September (see unboxing post here) and I'm back today to review the cleansing foam.

I've already reviewed two of the products from the five-piece set and I'm ready to review the other three items so I may try to sneak those three reviews in this morning if I can.

Once I've done that, I'll let myself open one of the other skincare kits I have in store: I went a little nuts with sets this year and I'm ready to try something new!

Omorovicza claims/product details:
  • Sweet-smelling and baby-blue, this refreshing cleansing foam is a delight to use first thing in the morning or last thing at night
  • It removes makeup and impurities without stripping the skin of moisture because it does not contain harmful sulfates
  • Works to: detoxify skin and regulate sebum with copper gluconate; energise and revitalise skin with white lupin; and deliver long-lasting hydration and suppleness with apple pectin
  • The complexion is left looking more supple and youthful as Hydro Mineral Transference™ delivers minerals deep into the skin
  • RRP $82 AUD for 150ml

If you're interested in the Omorovicza set that I bought, it's available from Mecca for $110 AUD and it contains:

  • Ultramoor Mud Mask (15ml)
  • Queen of Hungary Mist (30ml)
  • Thermal Cleansing Balm (15ml)
  • Cleansing Foam (30ml)
  • Balancing Moisturiser (30ml)

I bought it because I'd been desperate to try some products from the brand and this seemed like a good way to do it: I could try five samples for around the price of one full-sized product (depending of course on what you're buying) and that way I wouldn't have to commit to purchasing a single product and wind up not loving it.

I must say, I'm glad I went for the set option. Turns out I really enjoy three of the products (this being one of them) and two of them are a bit meh, and I also don't feel the need to buy any of them in full-size now because I don't think they're 'oh my god, I'll die without them' good. Good to know.

Verdict

I do enjoy this cleanser but I wouldn't drop $82 AUD on the full-size. Yes it's nice, but it's not that nice. Mind you, I don't think it's super badly priced considering that you do get a large 150ml in the full-size and a little does go a long way, so I could see the large tube lasting me a year. Something to keep in mind.

It's a pale blue product and it has that spa mud scent that I've come to associate with Omorovicza products. Yes it smells like dirt, but it's a clean kind of dirt and I quite like the fragrance. Worth noting too is that the scent is very faint so it shouldn't bother most people.

I generally use this in the morning as my second cleanse. I use a balm or oil cleanser first and then go in with this to gently clean my skin. It does a good job of cleansing the skin, I must say. Yes it's a foaming cleanser but I would call the 'foam' more of a lather, so you can tell that it's gentle and doesn't contain SLS.

I also tested the pH of this cleanser and it sits somewhere between a five and a six (closer to six), so I agree that it's gentle and doesn't strip the skin. It certainly never feels like it strips my skin.

While I mostly use this in the morning these days, I have tried it as my first cleanse in the evening and also as my in-shower cleanser. It works well for all purposes and while it does lift makeup and impurities from the skin very well, I do need to use it under the shower if I'm going to get my mascara off - although I can say that for just about every cleanser on the market so it doesn't lose any points there.

As for claims: yes it's refreshing; yes it removes makeup and impurities without stripping the skin of moisture; yes it feels like it detoxifies; and yes there's something revitalising about it.

Overall I do really enjoy this and I recommend it. It leaves my skin feeling soft, clean and never stripped, and as mentioned above, I don't think it's the worst Omorovicza product in terms of value so if you wanted to try something from the range, this wouldn't be a bad pick.

Lovely but not a repurchase for me. I personally don't feel the need to spend this much on a cleanser unless it's off-the-charts good, and this doesn't quite make the grade.
